Privacy Policy

Effective date: 15 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Owambe Planner (“Owambe Planner”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Owambe Planner mobile app and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following, depending on how you use the app:

Account information

Your name, email address, and password (or the identifier from Google or Apple Sign‑In) when you create an account.

Event and planning data

Events you create, budgets, themes, tasks, guest counts, and related planning details.

Vendor business information

If you use vendor features: business name, category, city, service area, phone number, description, listings, prices, and photos.

Identity verification (KYC)

If you choose to get verified as a vendor: a government ID image and a selfie, processed to confirm your identity.

Messages and content

Chat messages, photos, quotes, and invoices you send or receive through the app.

Voice notes (audio)

If you record a voice note in a chat, we collect the audio recording so we can deliver it to the person you send it to. We only access your microphone while you are actively recording a voice note, and only after you grant microphone permission. You can decline or later revoke this permission in your device settings; the rest of the app keeps working without it.

Location

If you choose to share a meet‑up location with a vendor, we collect your device location (approximate, and precise if you allow precise location) at the moment you share it. We only access location when you actively use a location feature and grant permission, and you can revoke that permission at any time in your device settings.

Purchase information

Subscription status and transaction identifiers. Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play; we do not collect or store your card or bank details.

Device and usage information

Basic technical data such as device type, app version, a device identifier, and your IP address. We record a device identifier and IP address when you register and when you sign in — this keeps the app working and helps us protect the platform against fraud and abuse.

Notifications

A push token, if you allow notifications, so we can send you relevant updates.

Analytics and app activity

We collect basic app‑activity data — such as which screens you view and which features you use — through a privacy‑focused analytics provider (PostHog) to understand how the app is used and improve it. This is linked to an internal account identifier rather than your name or email, and does not include the contents of your messages or your exact payment amounts.

App lock (biometrics)

If you turn on App Lock, unlocking uses your device’s own passcode or biometrics (such as Face ID or fingerprint). That check is performed entirely by your device; we never receive, collect, or store your biometric data.

We do not sell your personal information.
